It is an exciting time at Father Lopez Catholic High School! Prior to the pandemic, Father Lopez had a tradition of organizing a day of service for our senior class. We haven’t had the opportunity to bring back this tradition until now. The FLCHS National Honors Society and Office of Campus Ministry are sponsoring this year’s Senior Service Day on Wednesday November 16.
Our seniors will be heading to Harvest Time International in Sanford. We will be working in the warehouse sorting linens that will be going overseas to developing countries. These linens are extremely helpful to orphanages, hospitals and shelters that otherwise have very little. Our group will play a huge role in sending this product in containers to those who need it most! By volunteering with Harvest Time International we will serve an organization that gives aid to areas affected by natural disasters both locally and abroad.
Seniors will be treated to Chick Fil-A for breakfast, a gift from a group of senior parents. The school will be providing lunch for the students which they will enjoy at Gemini Springs after their volunteer time. It is going to be a wonderful experience for the entire class!
As with any off-campus activity, there are forms that need to be filled out. Please be on the lookout for three forms your student will bring home: A Diocesan Consent Form & Liability Waiver; A Diocesan Medical Information & Consent Form; and the Volunteer Profile from Harvest Time International. Please make sure these are signed and returned no later than Monday, November 14. Students will not be able to participate without all three forms completed and returned.
Dress for our day of service will be as follows:
Students MUST wear closed toe shoes
Jeans or school uniform shorts
A Father Lopez spirit shirt or uniform shirt
