National Honor Society (N.H.S.)
Membership: Juniors and seniors with a minimum 3.5 G.P.A. are invited to apply. A panel of faculty members determines membership after an extensive interview.
Description: The National Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but also challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

French Honor Society
Membership: Second semester Sophomores and any Juniors and Seniors who have demonstrated consistent excellence in French classes.Members are chosen by the moderators based on academic transcripts.Members must also be members in the World Languages Club.
Description:The French Honor Society is an extension of our World Languages Club at Lopez.The very best and brightest students in French are invited into this national society.Society members earn the right to wear a special honor cord at graduation.
