Father Lopez Vision Statement:

Father Lopez Catholic High School is a Christ-centered community of learners. We believe that spiritual formation in the Catholic tradition and academic rigor create a positive culture where all students are free to discover their full human potential through scholarly pursuits, athletics and service leadership.

Therefore we will:

·         Help our students recognize that they are created in the image and likeness of God. 
  As such, they are good and responsible for building the Kingdom of God in our  
  community through service and prayer.

This vision statement, which guides all we do as a community, reflects our core Catholic beliefs. As articulated on the United States Confrence of Catholic Bishops website, "The Church's social teaching is a rich treasure of wisdom about building a just society and living lives of holiness amidst the challenges of modern society." The base of all is the sacredness of human life."The Catholic Church proclaims that human life is sacred and that the dignity of the human person is the foundation of a moral vision for society. We believe that every person is precious, that people are more important than things, and that the measure of every institution is whether it threatens or enhances the life and dignity of the human person." This guiding principle sets the stage for our campus life and all we do as a community.

One of the fundamental concepts of Catholicism teaches that family is the "Domestic Church". It is in the family that young women and men are nurtured in their spiritual life. Father Lopez Catholic High School enters into a partnership with the family to foster this relationship with God and offer opportunities and experiences to enhance the spiritual lives of our students. Each student's faith life is fostered through prayer, celebrations of the Sacraments, catechesis, Scripture study, and reflective experiences. These opportunities give all of us the strength and grace to go into the world and serve our neighbors. It is our hope and prayer that this Christian environment provides a foundation and climate of faith in which to mature.
