The School Board of Education for 2007- 2008 extends a sincere welcome to its’ newest members:   Mr. Chris Kelly ( Class of  1986 ), Mrs. Blaine Lansberry ( Class of  1978),  Mr. Steve Ridder ( Athletic Director of ERAU), and  Dr. Kent Sharples (President of DBCC). These members began their terms on August 1, 2007.  The School Board is comprised of parents, alumni, administration, and community leaders whose mission is to “pursue excellence within the Catholic tradition” and to serve as a link between parents, staff, students, and community representatives and the Diocese of Orlando.  The School Board acts in an advisory capacity to make recommendations and to assist the school administrator in the areas of education, planning, finances, policy, communication, and any other matter that is deemed important to the well being of the high school.  Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 in the Root Library and are open to the Lopez community.  The board consists of the five committees: Finance, Academics, Strategic Planning, Nominating, and Development.  Alumni relations, Fundraising, Public relations share the same Development umbrella. Committees are comprised of board members, community members, and a faculty liaison.
