The Father Lopez Basketball teams traveled to district opponent Lake Mary Prep last Friday and all three teams were victorious. The JV Boys team started things off with a 62-42 win. Kyle Epping led the way with 21 points, and Ben Marello chipped in with 17. The Varsity Girls were up next and won in convincing fashion, 63-22. Lopez was led by Ashley Folsom (20 points and 8 rebounds) and Shannon Cranshaw (17 points). The Varsity Girls Basketball team lossed its first game of the season last night on the road to TImber Creek 59-44. The Green Wave was led by Ashley Folsom, who scored a team-high 21 points. The Girls will be back in action this weekend as they play host to district rival Warner on Friday night at 6:00 pm and again on Saturday against 8A Boone with the JV starting at 3:30 and the Varsity to follow at 5:00 pm.

The JV Girls Soccer team fell on the road Monday night at Mt. Dora 4-1. The lone Lopez goal was scored by Sidney Jackson. The JV team will be back in action on January 11th, 2012 as they travel to Taylor, game time 4:00 pm.

The Girls Varsity Basketball team dominated Master's last Friday night in a district game 62-25. The Green Wave was led by Ashley Folsom who scored 22 points and added 12 rebounds. The girls will be back in action on Tuesday night as they travel to undefeated Timber Creek. JV starts at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00.

The Boys and Girls varsity soccer teams both lost last Friday night in a district game at Master's Academy. The Girls fell 8-0. The Boys lost in a hard fought game 2-1. Gabe Silveira extended his goal scoring streak to five games scoring the only goal, his ninth of the season, for the Green Wave. The defense led by Jeremy Gion, Joey Boden, Andy Ufheil, Max Cunningham, Andrew Lydecker, and Ryan Wiseman have only surrendered 4 goals over the last 5 games. The JV and Varsity Girls Basketball teams went on the road yesterday and defeated Bishop Moore. The JV won 30-20 and were led by April Panaggio's 16 points. The Varsity continued their winning streak, extending it to 8 in a row, by defeating Bishop Moore 52-31. The Green Wave was led by Shannon Cranshaw's 21 points and Ashley Folsom's 13 points and 13 rebounds. The varsity girls will be back in action Friday as they host district rival Master's at 6:00pm in the Brown & Brown Field House.
