Success Programs

Some of our incoming 9th grade students will need support
in their academic program. We determine this need at the
time of scheduling, based on Entrance Exam and other test
scores provided by the family.

For students who need additional support in Language Arts,
foreign language is deferred for one year, and the student
is enrolled in Applied Communications. This course will
help students improve their language skills while assisting
them in their assigned work in English 1.

Students who need additional support in Mathematics are
enrolled in a separate intensive section of Algebra I.
This section is designed to make Algebra more understandable
so that these students will experience a greater chance
at success in Geometry and Algebra II later on.

Each year, we analyze our Entrance Exam and PSAT scores
to determine the need for additional Success Programs.

Families with students who have special needs are
encouraged to speak with the Assistant Principal for
Instruction to determine our ability to serve your student.
Father Lopez does not employ Exceptional Education
teachers, nor are we able to accommodate all students with
special needs. Students who come to us with IEP's or 504
plans will be entirely mainstreamed and must meet all
requirements expected of other students.

Scholarships are available for students with special needs
through the McKay scholarship program. For information
and eligibility, click here.
